Eagerly waiting for your first day in driving school?
Excited? Nervous? Or both?
Getting behind the wheel is indeed a big step up in responsibilities and opportunities.
Don’t worry. Once you make it through the first day, you’ll be brimming with confidence.
To make sure you get off to a solid start, we have compiled a guide of what you expect on the first day of your driving school.
So, without a moment’s delay, let’s begin your training!
What You’ll Need Before Your First Day
The most important thing you need before your first day is a good night’s sleep!
From basics about the vehicle to safety protocols, and more, you will have to process a lot of new information all at once.
With a fresh and well-rested mind, you will be able to grasp as much as possible.
At the same time, remember, you should also be physically comfortable. So, dress in comfy clothes and wear easy shoes.
This would help you focus more on driving.
Get Some Practice
By practice, we mean, sit in a car with your mum or dad or any supervision; look around and get familiar with cars!
Not that the instructor might have the same car, you can still get yourself equipped with general knowledge such as where are the clutch, brake, and accelerator located.
Meeting Your Instructor
You might be waiting anxiously to see who is going to be teaching you to drive.
As per your arrangement, either the instructor would pick you up from your place, or you might report to the school.
Anyhow, once you are together you’re going to get a chance to know your instructor.
You’ll be guided to the car by your instructor, and from there, it starts.
Since it’s the first day, the focus will only be on the basic foundations of driving, so don’t be nervous. Take it one step at a time.
Getting A Grip On The Car
Once you’re behind the wheel, and at your quiet and trafficless location, you can start getting a hold of the vehicle.
This is the part where the instructor would be starting with basic car functionalities like gear shifts and “CBA”.
Do not hesitate to ask questions.
This will not only help you have a better understanding of the car you’re driving, but also builds confidence in front of your instructor.
Mistakes? More Learning!
Oops! You hit the brakes instead of the clutch!
Don’t worry.
Mistakes are bound to happen.
If you make a mistake, you shouldn’t let it impact your driving.
Instead, you should acknowledge that it happens, think about why it occurred, and then make every effort to prevent it in the future.
